Welcome to Timos! We are committed to creating a safe, private, efficient, and friendly environment to protect the privacy of users worldwide.
These guidelines govern behavior on Timos. Within the bounds of applicable law, we take a zero-tolerance approach to any abuse of the service, behavior that endangers others, or conduct that harms our community. Violations may result in feature restrictions, temporary account suspension, or permanent bans.
Explanation of our architecture
All chat messages, voice/video calls, and transmitted files on Timos are protected. Since Timos does not hold the corresponding decryption keys, it cannot access, read, or decrypt your private plaintext communication content.
These guidelines apply to:
- Your publicly accessible profile content (such as your avatar, display name, and bio);
- Evidence of violations that other users actively report and submit to the platform.
The following behavior is strictly prohibited across the platform:
1. Harassment, Cyberbullying, and Doxxing
We strive to maintain a social environment free from abuse. Please communicate respectfully:
- Continuously sending unwanted spam messages or harassing others is strictly prohibited;
- Belittling, humiliating, defaming, stalking, intimidating, or bullying other users, or inciting others to do so, is strictly prohibited;
- Disclosing the non-public personal data of others (whether or not they are Timos users) without authorization — such as ID numbers, home addresses, private contact details, or financial account information (doxxing) — is strictly prohibited.
2. Hate Speech and Discrimination
Timos is an inclusive community.
- Content or behavior that attacks, discriminates against, degrades, or incites violence or hatred against individuals or groups based on protected characteristics — including race, ethnicity, religion, disability, gender, age, nationality, sexual orientation, or gender identity — is strictly prohibited;
- Posting or sharing content that may spark group hostility, trolling, or extremism is strictly prohibited.
3. Child Safety and Protection (Zero Tolerance for CSAM/CSAE)
The minimum age to use Timos is 16. We take an absolute zero-tolerance stance on any behavior that endangers or sexually exploits children:
- Creating, posting, sharing, or spreading any child sexual abuse or sexual exploitation material (CSAM/CSAE) is strictly prohibited;
- Any conduct that induces, encourages, recruits, blackmails, traffics, or exploits children for sexual purposes is strictly prohibited;
- Sexualizing children, or publishing sensitive personal information that may endanger children without authorization, is strictly prohibited.
For violations involving CSAM/CSAE or serious harm to child safety, Timos will permanently ban the account directly and report to the relevant authorities in accordance with applicable law and regulatory requirements, including to NCMEC or other relevant agencies where applicable.
4. Nudity, Pornography, and Sexual Solicitation
Timos is not intended for adult content that falls outside general public communication:
- Posting, sharing, or spreading pornographic material, explicit sexual displays, or content with strong sexual implications is strictly prohibited (whether photographed, artistic, animated, or in any other form — any content that is pornographic, explicitly sexual, or sexually exploitative is forbidden);
- Using Timos for prostitution, escort solicitation, sexual enticement, human trafficking, or coordinating any commercial sexual service is strictly prohibited.
5. Violence, Self-Harm, and Dangerous Behavior
- Promoting, inciting, or threatening physical violence, terrorism, extremism, or criminal activity is strictly prohibited;
- Posting content that depicts gore, torture, cruel violence, or extremely harmful acts is strictly prohibited;
- Encouraging, abetting, inducing, or displaying suicide, self-harm, or extremely dangerous behavior is strictly prohibited. If you or someone around you is facing a mental health crisis, please seek local professional mental health support or emergency services promptly.
6. Fraud, Misleading Conduct, and Online Gambling
- Using Timos to commit telecom fraud, financial fraud, Ponzi schemes, get-rich-quick scams, or multi-level marketing (MLM) is strictly prohibited;
- Promoting, organizing, or participating in illegal gambling, betting activities, or unauthorized wagering services is strictly prohibited;
- Creating fake identities, impersonating others or institutions/official representatives, or using misleading metadata, names, or avatars to deceive other users is strictly prohibited.
7. Spam and Technical Abuse
- Using automated programs, bots, or scripts for mass registration, bulk messaging, or flooding is strictly prohibited;
- Sending unsolicited spam to large numbers of users for commercial promotion, phishing, or promoting malicious links is strictly prohibited;
- Distributing files or software code containing viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs, or other technically harmful content is strictly prohibited.
8. Intellectual Property Protection
- Infringing on the intellectual property rights of others (such as patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets) is strictly prohibited.
Enforcement and Appeals
- Actions: Based on the severity, scope of impact, and available evidence of a violation, Timos may remove or hide violating profile content, restrict certain features, temporarily suspend the account, or permanently ban the account.
- Blocking and Reporting: You can use the in-app "Block" feature at any time to stop harassment, or report via the chat interface, the user profile page, or by email to support@timosapp.com (daily violations) or dpo@timosapp.com (child safety/privacy violations).
- Account Appeals: If you believe your account was restricted or banned in error, you can appeal via the in-app appeals feature or by email to support@timosapp.com, providing your registered email and a necessary explanation. Timos will review and respond within a reasonable period.
Timos reserves the right to interpret and update these guidelines within the scope permitted by laws and regulations.
